Every detail had been thought of, inside and out. With every room being en-suite, it made such a difference for our big group, and the beds were so unbelievably comfortable! The facilities were fantastic and very well used — we all made the most of the sauna, swimming pool, hot tub, and games room. The huge kitchen and dining space was absolutely perfect for us all to come together for meals. The kitchen was so well equipped, it had everything you could possibly need (and more!). The cinema room and games room were a massive hit too — the kids especially loved it, and there was never a dull moment in this gorgeous home. Thank you so much for having us. The cinema room was great day and night and all the different spaces meant that everyone could do as they pleased without being on top of one another. The kitchen had enough space to make meals and the dinning area allowed us all to eat together. The rooms were all spacious and clean. The location is really close to Windemere town and a 5 minute walk to where the dogs could really stretch their legs. It was a 5 minute drive to Windemere lake where we spent a day with paddleboards (if your thinking of buying/ hiring one, do it!) All in all a perfect trip for everyone. Read less

Well where do I start... Firstly Ruben was an amazing host and was very responsive to my messages and there were a lot of messages 🤦🏼♀️. If I could have given 10 stars I would have. We have just got back from a family (16 adults &6 dogs) weekend at South view spa. We cannot recommend South view spa enough, there was so much to keep everyone entertained from the indoor swimming pool, the hot tub, the sauna, the pool/table tennis table and to top it off a cinema with a popcorn machine. All the bedrooms were spacious and from what I remember most if not all had ensuite bathrooms. The beds were comfortable. The location was perfect because you were close enough to everything that you needed but also felt like you had your privacy. Plenty of parking for all our cars. This really was a family home away from home and we really could not have asked for anything more. Southview Spa itself is beautiful, spacious, immaculately furnished and decorated, warm and with enough activities to keep everyone entertained for a whole holiday. The pool and jacuzzi are immaculate also and came with floats/armbands for kids. The cinema room is another great addition, perfect for games/quizzes or just films and easy to cast to an iphone. The house has any amenities you might need, lovely towels, robes, extra toilet rolls, washing machine, detergent and softener, iron and board to name a few. There are also any glasses/cutley/crockery you could ever need. There was even some prosecco chilled for us in advance! Reuben is a fantastic host - I cannot rate him enough. He allowed us brief entry to the house one day in advance to unpack our food and drink and was quick to respond to any/all questions both in advance and during our stay. For large groups in the lakes you could not do better than Southview Spa! 10/10.. 5*s Read less

Though we didn’t use the hot spa steam room, I am sure we will come back again if we have the opportunity. The town is walkable with all the restaurants and convenient stores. We enjoyed ourselves in the Lake District and happy to return in the evening to such a cosy place. If I were to pick a problem area, it will be the dryer which worked intermittently. Sometimes ok, sometimes gave us a 3 min drying cycle and we had to keep checking and trying. All in all, it’s still a wonderful place to stay with a large group of family members. Read less

Well what can you say? Southview is a fantastic place to stay. It was my 70th birthday weekend and there was me, my wife, our five children (now adults), their partners and seven grandchildren aged 4-17. We booked our stay early this year and Reuben was really helpful throughout the process even allowing us to visit a couple of months before our trip to get a feel of the bedroom situation. An extra single bed was put into one of the twin bedrooms which accommodated three of our little ones. The house was spotless on arrival and there was plenty of room for us all. We took full advantage of the pool, hot tub and sauna…. it was a struggle to get the grandkids out of the pool they loved it! The house is within 200 metres of Windermere centre and an easy walk down to Bowness. Plenty of buses if the walk is too far. We got home this afternoon and are still getting messages from the family all saying it was a brilliant weekend away. Thanks Reuben for your prompt response to our questions. Read less
